Lisbon + Belem day 3

Our objective today is the town of Belem. It's really just a Lisbon suburb but it's on the water and contains a couple of the sites we wanted to see while we're here.

The first challenge is navigating to the place where the proverbial #15e stops; not just any stop but the first stop. This way we can get a seat. We grab one and head to Belem, about 4 miles closer to the Atlantic than Lisbon. Our first stop is a pastry house, famous for their pasteis; little custard-filled pies.

From there we hiked to the Monastery of San Geronimo. No, not the Native American, it's Saint Jerome. Just look at the line. We stood there in the hot sun for 45 minutes, just to get in.

Once inside, we saw the Monastery and the rest of the place which is now a museum to display the Egyptian treasures they once found and Roman pieces they discovered in their own back yard. It seems that Portugal was once an active part of the Roman Empire.
