Day 7 Shopping-Lunch-Shopping

Today was mostly about shopping. And in most places that would be a pretty boring endeavor. But not in Marrekech! Every price is negotiated, including taxis. Here's Gina negotiating for a silk scarf.

Our next goal was the Yves St Laurent garden. After circumventing a long line we explored it. Here's one scene from there. Ana took dozens of pictures and is writing her own journal which we will put in a supplemental post.

After the garden, we grabbed a cab (more negotiating) to lunch at the Le Momounia hotel. The food was stellar. This is a Raspberry and Rosewater dessert and an eclair with gold leaf chocolate.

It's famous because Winston Churchill stayed there and it is truly the finest place in town. What a contrast to the Souks. The scenery at the pool and the 15 acres of surrounding gardens was beautiful.

After lunch we walked about a mile and a half through the Souks for more shopping and haggling. The girls got some henna painting on their hands.
